What To Expect
At this practice patients first go through a comprehensive 45 minute evaluation on their first visit. Dr. Fernandez suggests treatment plans and provides information and options and allows the patient choices on how to proceed. Medication management and/or therapy will follow. If therapy is needed without medication management, patients are referred to wide range of therapists including psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, or chemical dependency counselors, as deemed necessary at the outcome of the initial evaluation.
If the recommendations include psychotropic medications for any condition, risks of medications, indications/reasons for using medications, and the benefits of the medications will be discussed. Options and alternatives will be discussed as well with the client or parent/guardian during this initial evaluation. Dr. Fernandez works with the patient/guardian to select the most suitable treatment option for their condition.
