What should I do in case of an emergency?

If you are having an emergency please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency center for care. If you are a danger to self or others or in serious pain you must seek emergency help at the nearest emergency center.

What is the difference between a psychiatrist and a psychologist?

A psychiatrist is a medical professional with an M.D or a D.O. degree and is trained in treating psychiatric as well as medical conditions that may be present with the psychiatric conditions. They are also trained in psychotherapy and can prescribe medications. A psychologist is a clinical professional with a Ph. D. or Psy. D. degree and is trained psychotherapy and clinical counseling of patients by analyzing the emotional, physical and behavioral conditions. A psychologist cannot prescribe psychiatric medications.

When will my call be returned?

Your call, if left after 5:30 pm or on the weekend, will be returned on the next business day or within 24 business hours. Office hours are between 8:30 am – 5:30 pm with 12:00 – 1:00 pm lunch break.

How will I get a medication refill?

Patients may have their pharmacy fax their requests for their medication to our fax number.

What if I change insurance companies?

Please notify office staff if you have changed insurance companies or have made any change in the plan of your insurance. If your insurance does not cover your visit you will be responsible for the balance.

What if I can’t make my appointment?

We appreciate the courtesy of a 24 business hour notice to let us know that you cannot make your appointment. There will be a missed appointment fee if you do not inform us within 24 business hours.

My primary care doctor needs to speak with you.

You will need to have a release of information signed before we can divulge any information about you to anyone as this is a HIPAA law.
